Barbed wire for boundaries and farms
Barbed wire is two line wires twisted together with short four-point barbs wound on at regular intervals. Our barbed wire uses dual-winding with barbs spaced 3 to 4 inches apart, in 12 to 14 gauge (2 mm and 2.5 mm) wire, packed in 30 kg paper-wrapped rolls.
It is the most economical way to mark and protect a large boundary: strung in several lines between posts for farms and plantations, or run along the top of a chain link fence or compound wall to stop people climbing over.
GI or PVC coated barbed wire?
GI barbed wire is zinc coated for corrosion resistance and suits most outdoor and boundary work. PVC coated barbed wire adds a plastic layer for extra weather resistance, which helps in humid, coastal or wet locations.
Concertina coil for high security
Concertina coil (razor wire) is a spiral of high-tensile wire fitted with sharp blades. It opens out like an accordion, so a single coil forms a deep barrier that is very hard to cut or climb. It is used at industrial plants, power stations, defence sites, prisons and borders, for perimeter fencing and temporary security zones. Our coils are 600 mm in diameter with 50 loops, single razor, 2.5 mm (12 SWG) wire with 275 GSM zinc coating, 6 m per roll.
Questions buyers ask
How long is a roll of barbed wire?
Our rolls weigh 30 kg and give 18 to 40 ft of wire per kg depending on the gauge, so one roll covers roughly 540 to 1,200 ft of a single line.
What is the difference between barbed wire and concertina wire?
Barbed wire is a straight twisted wire with small barbs, strung in lines between posts. Concertina coil is a spiral of razor-bladed wire that forms a deep, three-dimensional barrier and is used where security matters most.
Which gauge of barbed wire should I buy?
12 gauge (2.5 mm) is thicker and stronger; 14 gauge (2 mm) is lighter and gives more length per kg. We make 12 × 12, 14 × 14 and 12 × 14 combinations.
